Target’s presence at the London 2012 Olympics was to focus on driving brand awareness and surprising and delighting the natural foot traffic of international tourists as well as local residents. The Target Go Tube transformed the Bernie Spain Gardens into an oasis of relaxation and fun along the River Thames. When a certain number of foursquare check-ins was reached, the Go Tube opened and gave away a mix of vibrant London-appropriate branded items like hats, umbrellas, fans and sunglasses. Guests also enjoyed traditional outdoor games such as bocce and croquet on the park lawn. An interactive photo booth proved a real hit with long lines of people waiting to create their own superimposed sport photos.
