With the cost of tablets plummeting and internet access being primarily available via shared wireless networks, Brazilian, as well other Latino web users, have been adopting tablets en masse. Terra Networks, being the largest content portal in Latin America, decided to capitalize on this trend. I led the team that adapted existing content feeds from 20 different content management systems across the enterprise, wrote algorithms to adapt the content to forty view templates. In addition to text-based content, photo galleries, video streams, live narration and commenting for sports and breaking news were all layered into a rich, interactive experience in which the website behaved as a native app, utilizing dynamic transitions and never once performing a full page refresh.
